
Dr. William Dar
Dr. William Dar is a globally renowned horticulturist and former Secretary of Agriculture for the Philippines. With over four decades of leadership in agricultural science, he has served as the first director of the Philippine Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR), and as Director General of the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) for 3 strong terms. After BAR, he also served as the Executive Director of Philippine Council for Agriculture, and Natural Resources Research and Development. His work has focused on improving food security and the resilience of dryland farming systems. Dr. Dar’s commitment to inclusive agricultural development is evident in his book “Feeding the Forgotten Poor.” His extensive experience and visionary leadership are invaluable to AGREA Foundation’s mission.
