Celebrating with Purpose in Marinduque
This World Food Day 2025, AGREA Agricultural Communities International Foundation Inc. joined the global community in celebrating under the theme "Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future". The theme reminds us that every action, big or small, matters in building a world where everyone has access to safe, nutritious, and sufficient food.
At AGREA, this message is more than words — it's the foundation of everything we do in our island home of Marinduque.

Our Vision: Zero Hunger, Zero Waste, Zero Insufficiency
World Food Day 2025 called for global collaboration to create a more food-secure future. At AGREA, we answer this call through our vision of a "one island economy" built on three transformative pillars:
Zero Hunger - More than feeding stomachs, it's about restoring dignity and opportunity for our farmers
Zero Waste - Producing wisely and sustainably for our planet
Zero Insufficiency - Ensuring fair economics where every hand in the food chain is valued and rewarded justly.
Empowering Women Food Producers
A highlight of our World Food Day celebration was the Livelihood Start-Up Grant distribution to members of the Women Food Producers Association of Marinduque (WFPA-Marinduque).
The WFPA was established by AGREA Foundation in 2020 as our tangible community mechanism to support women in expressing their full potential in agriculture. Through this association, women farmers in Marinduque gain access to education, sustainable livelihood opportunities, and fair markets. The livelihood grants represent more than financial support — they represent our commitment to turning women farmers into agricultural entrepreneurs and leaders in their communities.

Learning and Growing Together
Our World Food Day celebration brought together farmers, youth, and community members for:
Training sessions on sustainable agriculture practices
Community meals shared in the spirit of bayanihan
Youth engagement activities promoting the next generation of food leaders
Networking opportunities for WFPA members and partners
These activities embody the World Food Day 2025 theme's emphasis on solidarity across borders, sectors, and communities.

Honoring Those Who Feed Our Nation
Behind every meal is the effort of our farmers, fisherfolk, and food workers who pour their hearts into feeding our nation. This World Food Day, we honored them by:
Supporting local - Buying from Marinduque farmers and producers
Reducing food waste - Valuing every grain, every vegetable, every meal
Caring for our environment - Practicing sustainable agriculture
Recognizing food workers - Celebrating the farmers who feed our communities
Building a Better Future, Together
World Food Day 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the Food and Agriculture Organization. As we reflect on this milestone, we recommit to our mission of creating a food system where:
Farmers receive fair compensation for their labor
Sustainable practices protect our environment for future generations
Women have equal opportunities to lead in agriculture
No Filipino goes to bed hungry

Together, hand in hand, we can build a future where every Filipino has enough on their plate — not just for today, but for generations to come. 🌍
AGREA Agricultural Communities International Foundation Inc. continues to work toward a one island economy that is Zero Hunger, Zero Waste, and Zero Insufficiency in Marinduque, Philippines.
