More Love for Women

Updated: Mar 27

Meet Nanay Elena Osmillo, a 66-year-old woman from Bahi, Gasan, Marinduque, whose dedication and passion for learning continue to inspire those around her. Despite her age, she remains eager to grow and adapt, proving that learning has no boundaries.

As a certified holder of Organic Agriculture Production NCII and Agricultural Crop Production NCII, she applies her skills by cultivating crops in her backyard. Her commitment led her to join the Marinduque WFPA, where she now serves as the project manager of the association.

Every morning, you will find Nanay Elena in their community garden, tending to the crops with care—especially the arrowroots she and her late husband planted together. For her, the garden is more than just a source of food; it is a place of growth, connection, and purpose.

She shares, “Because of AGREA and the TESDA scholarships they offer, I was able to meet new people and eventually become part of WFPA. The knowledge we gain, we put into practice in our garden. And because have a community garden, we now have access to organic and nutritious vegetables that are good for the health of each of our families.” 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐖𝐅𝐏𝐀) is AGREA’s tangible community mechanism under the FORWARD program, to support women in expressing their human rights towards healthy food, decent livelihood, fair opportunities in the agriculture sector and to be financially included and digitally equipped for their future endeavors to better their communities and the society at large.
