We celebrate with profound gratitude and immense pride as our Founder and Chairperson, Ms. Cherrie Atilano, has been recognized as Tatler Most Influential Philippines 2025 for her transformative work in advancing inclusive and regenerative agriculture in the Philippines. This prestigious honor is more than an individual achievement; it is a testament to the power of purpose-driven leadership, the resilience of farming communities, and the undeniable truth that agriculture is the foundation of our nation's future. When Tatler Asia highlights changemakers who are redefining leadership across business, science, culture, and social impact, they are shining a light on those who prove that influence, when rooted in service, can shape a more hopeful and equitable future for all.

Cherrie's journey from her roots on a sugarcane farm in Negros Occidental to leading AGREA's nationwide movement is a story of unwavering commitment and visionary action. She began teaching farmers at the age of twelve, sharing knowledge about intensive gardening and sustainable practices long before she understood that this early passion would blossom into a lifetime of service. Today, decades later, that same spirit of service drives every initiative we undertake. Under her leadership, AGREA has empowered over a thousand women food producers, strengthened rural economies, and inspired the next generation of agricultural leaders to see farming not as a last resort, but as a dignified, profitable, and transformative profession.

Her recognition by Tatler is particularly meaningful because it acknowledges not just what she has achieved, but how she has achieved it. Cherrie has dedicated her life to building resilient, circular, and humane farming systems across the Philippines, proving that agriculture can be both regenerative and economically viable. Through AGREA's One Island Economy model, she has demonstrated that when we eliminate hunger, eliminate waste, and eliminate insufficiency in farming communities, entire regions can thrive [[16]]. This holistic approach addresses the systemic challenges farmers face while creating market linkages, providing education, and ensuring that women and youth have equal opportunities to lead in agriculture.

What makes this recognition even more significant is that it places a spotlight on the broader movement of changemakers across Asia who are redefining what it means to lead with purpose. Cherrie stands among leaders in business, science, culture, and social impact who are proving that success is not measured by personal gain, but by the positive transformation we create in the world. As a UN SDG Advocate, Global Food Systems Leader, and impact investor, she has consistently used every platform, every opportunity, and every resource to amplify the voices of smallholder farmers and to advocate for food and nutrition security on both national and global stages.

This honor also celebrates the thousands of farmers, fisherfolk, women, and youth who are the heart of AGREA's work. When Cherrie receives this recognition, she receives it on behalf of every farmer who has attended our training, every woman who has joined our Women Food Producers Association, every young person who has chosen to stay in agriculture, and every community that has embraced the One Island Economy vision. Her leadership has always been about lifting others, creating pathways for marginalized communities, and ensuring that those who feed our nation are no longer the poorest among us, but the most valued.

Her commitment to regenerative agriculture has never been just about environmental sustainability; it has been about restoring dignity to farming, ensuring fair incomes, and building systems where farmers can thrive for generations to come. Through programs that integrate financial literacy, entrepreneurship training, sustainable farming practices, and market access, AGREA has shown that when farmers are equipped with knowledge, resources, and opportunities, they become powerful agents of change in their communities. This is the legacy that Cherrie has built, and this is the movement that this recognition celebrates.

As we reflect on this achievement, we are reminded that visionary leadership is not about standing alone at the front; it is about walking alongside others, empowering them to discover their own strength, and creating spaces where everyone can contribute their gifts. Cherrie has always led with this understanding, whether she was teaching intensive gardening techniques as a twelve-year-old on a sugarcane farm or representing Philippine agriculture on global platforms. Her leadership style is collaborative, her vision is inclusive, and her commitment is unwavering.

Looking ahead, this recognition energizes us to continue the work with even greater determination. There are still farmers living in poverty, still communities facing food insecurity, still young people who need to see agriculture as a viable and exciting career path, and still systems that need transformation. Cherrie's recognition by Tatler Most Influential Philippines 2025 is not an endpoint; it is a catalyst for deeper impact, broader reach, and more meaningful change.

Here's to visionary leaders who cultivate change with patience, passion, and purpose. Here's to a future where farming is a source of pride, empowerment, and national resilience. Here's to Cherrie Atilano, whose life's work continues to inspire us, challenge us, and remind us why we do what we do. And here's to every farmer, every woman, every young person, and every community partner who makes this movement possible.

This recognition belongs to all of us. It belongs to the soil we till, the seeds we plant, the harvests we share, and the future we are building together. Thank you, Tatler Philippines, for honoring leaders who are shaping a better tomorrow. Thank you, Cherrie, for showing us that influence, when used with integrity and compassion, can transform not just agriculture, but the very fabric of our society.

The work continues. The vision grows. And together, we will keep cultivating change, one farmer, one community, one harvest at a time.
